Roscommon Solstice Choir & Manic Ukes!
We are so excited to bring together, for the very first time, two powerhouses of the Roscommon (and national!) music scene. For one night only, the Roscommon Solstice Choir will join forces with festival veterans Manic Ukes for a combined concert extravaganza! Performing a mix of hits, old and new, each group will showcase their talents separately as well as coming together for what promises to be a magnificent musical experience!
The concert will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Rooskey Village, followed by an after party at Tommy Cox’s pub.
Roscommon Solstice Choir
Since its inception in 2013, the Roscommon Solstice Choir has grown from strength to strength, performing all over the country and beyond, and helping to raise money for countless charitable organisations. Winners of the People’s Choice Voluntary Arts Award in 2017 and an All Ireland Community & Council Silver Award in 2018, we are honoured to have them in Rooskey to help kick off the main weekend festivities.
The Manic Ukes ukulele supergroup are no strangers to Rooskey, having performed at the festival for the last two years. The group is made up of players joining from groups all over the country, including our very own Rooskey Ukesters, Ukephoric in Knockcroghery, Lir in Mullingar, and the BUGS, RUGS and UkuHooligans in Dublin. Always loud and lively, you won’t be able to help but smile, clap and sing along to their strumming.
