How it works:
1. Donate €2.00 to the Rooskey Heritage Festival using the button below.
2. You will get a receipt from Paypal about your donation.
3. We will RANDOMLY SELECT a duck for you, and let you know the number.
4. The Duck Race will take place on Sunday May 1 around 2:00 (ish!)
5. The first three (3) ducks over the line will get a prize. €75 for 1st, €50 for 2nd, and €30 for third. Same as local competition.
All profits go towards the Rooskey Heritage Festival.
There will be cards available all around the village, and with committee members, so please support us and give yourself a chance to win.

We’ve had really good feedback and suggestions as to new ideas or ideas to retain for the festival in 2016.
We can now confirm that the water based activities that were around in 2015 will be back for 2016.
We will have the incredibly popular canoe and kayak activities under control of the Shannon River Adventure crew, and they are bringing the little bit scary Climbing Wall.
People love it (rather them than me!).
We’re hoping to have short boat trips also if we can get things sorted out in time.
The street entertainment was a great success last year and we will have bigger and better this year.
We had dedicated a street entertainer along with the buskers last year, and we will have bigger and better this year.
More street entertainers, on Saturday and Sunday.
Return of the very popular Busking Competition on Saturday.
Buskers and invited performers on main street on Sunday.
Wow, the people behind the big blue play bus from Roscommon have agreed to take part in the Rooskey Heritage Festival. We are delighted that they will be in the village on Saturday afternoon (23rd) so that the kids can have a real good time.
The Roscommon Family Play Bus mission is to provide a safe, healthy, happy learning environment for the children so that they may reach their full potential in all areas of personal and intellectual development through this multi-disciplinary project.
The vision for the play bus is that it will offer a high quality early years service for the children and provide a space for parents to access training or support.
The RHF committee is delighted to support and highlight this service and hope that the people in the village take this unique opportunity to check it out, and the kids take the opportunity to have some fun 🙂
Rackhouse Pilfer are a high-octane six-piece bluegrass and american roots band. They perform a mix of original songs and their own unique take on songs from Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch, Steve Earl, John Hiatt etc as well as traditional Bluegrass songs. Each of the six members sing and there are big harmonies.
Rackhouse Pilfer will be a fantastic headliner act for the festival opening night. They are expected on stage after our earlier activities finish (more on that later!).
Heres a couple of songs to get you in the mood.
The first is a version of Bruce Springsteens Atlantic City. This is closer to The Band’s version.
The second is a Rackhouse Pilfer original Angela, sung on the pier in Mullaghmore.
The third is a live version of The Mountain by Steve Earle, most famously sung by Levon Helm. This impromptu performance, it really shows the bands strengths.
This year to honour our community we would like to create a “Wall of Fame”. We want to include people from our community and the surrounding areas but we need your help!!!!
Our idea is to create a wall which should include a photo and a brief description of the person or people. We want to display these photos around the village to celebrate the past, the people, their lifestyles and their skills and talents.
Above is an example in the format that we would like. We know it’s only April but to do this properly will take a bit of time and organisation.
We would like to include all the photos we receive so if you are interested in this project please make sure that it’s OK with the family of the person you wish to include as a name will be attached to each piece.
The Sanctuary Players will come to Rooskey to perform The Cripple of Innishmann on Sunday 20th of March.
